The gamers say we're retro.
I think that means old...but cool.

Sony is making available two updated Intellivision games: Astrosmash Gen2 and Shark! Shark! Gen2 in their new release PlayStation Arcade for PS Home and PS Vita. A third title, Night Stalker Gen2, is planned to be added soon.

The games, which keep the feel and play of the originals while adding brighter, more colorful graphics and fun new features, join classics Asteroids, Centipede, Frogger and others in PlayStation Arcade. PlayStation Arcade can be downloaded free and comes with two free games. Other games, including Astrosmash Gen2 and Shark! Shark! Gen2 cost $1.49 each.

SMITHSONIAN TRAVELING ART OF VIDEO GAMES EXHIBITION IN SEATTLE

If you missed the Smithsonian's Art of Video Games exhibition in Washington D.C. last year or in Boca Raton earlier this year, how about Seattle? The exhibition is open now at the EMP Museum in Seattle, Washington, and runs through May 13th (after which it will be in Phoenix then Syracuse in 2013). It's a great show with many classic games and consoles, including our favorite! Don't miss it!

Twelve of the original Mattel Electronics game designers -- The Blue Sky Rangers -- held their annual reunion in January at Jino's Pizzeria in Lawndale CA, just down the street from the former location of the Mattel campus of buildings where they worked thirty years ago. "I don't know how many other one-time co-workers get together annually to celebrate their lay-off three decades earlier. The entire time we worked together was less than four years, but it was a special group and a special time," says Blue Sky Ranger Keith Robinson. "And we're all delighted that there are still so many fans of Intellivision! Thank you!"
